Bedrooms

In most units two clients share a bedroom. In some cases when it is clinically indicated temporary arrangements can be made to separate a client for their safety. Sleeping areas are assigned based on gender, age and developmental ability. All sleeping rooms have a door for privacy. Adequate drawer and closet space is provided for each client to store their personal belongings. In some units, personal care items are kept in a locked closet near the client’s room to ensure their safety. Clients can access these items whenever they choose by asking a staff member for assistance. Clients are allowed to keep and display their personal items such as posters, family pictures, alarm clocks, etc. Mirrors are provided in each bedroom unless it presents a safety risk. Clients who reside in our adult residences can purchase their own bedroom furniture if they choose.

Restrooms

Each residence has at least one bathroom. Townhouses have two bathrooms. Bathrooms have doors, which provide privacy, and only one client is allowed in the bathroom at a time.

Dining Areas

Dining room areas are provided in each residence and are kept clean and free of odors. Dining areas are designed to promote a family style environment and social interaction during meal and snack time. Clients have three scheduled meal times and two scheduled snack times per day. Kitchen and dining areas are located in each unit and are accessible to clients. Dining areas are always supervised during meals and snacks.
