Developmental Instructor

​The Center on Deafness serves children and adults with hearing impairments and accompanying developmental disabilities and/or mental illness. The Center on Deafness seeks to employ a qualified individual to serve as the program supervisor for its developmental training program. The ideal candidate should have experience working with adults individuals with disabilities. Candidates should have 1-2 years of experience, a minimum of a bachelor's degree and be trained as a DSP.

Job Requirements:
  • Experience working with disabled populations
  • Experience in recreational therapy, art therapy or certification as a COTA
  • Strong organizational and written documentation skills
  • Ability to complete a background check
  • Must have a valid driver's license

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a human service field ( psychology, sociology, social work, public health)
Job Responsibilities:
  • Developing weekly/ daily schedules for program participants including activity planning
  • Facilitating job preparedness and job coaching
  • Developing and implementing structured groups for clients
  • Responsible for providing the necessary support and personal assistance needed for individuals to actively participate in COD's developmental training program

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $35,000.00 per year
