Program/Services
Every student has the opportunity to participate in therapeutic activities. Most of the students are involved in individual counseling on a weekly basis. The focus of individual treatment can be quite varied, including treatment for depression, anger management, impulse control, life skills, relationship issues, general problem solving skills. The students are exposed to various group counseling sessions, both at school and in the residences. In addition, all the students are involved in a daily therapeutic milieu, where the focus is to teach students more appropriate response behaviors and to teach students how to function in a less restrictive environment.
The Behavior Management Program (BMP) is designed jointly by clinical, school, and residential staff and utilized to provide students with clear, concise rules and expectations. The goal of BMP is to decrease maladaptive behavior and to teach more appropriate responses.
